Handcrafted Eskimo Santa Claus
This item was handcrafted in 1997 by Myra Heintzelman of Indianapolis, IN. Prior to her passing in 2006, Myra was known for her artistic crafts, especially her Santa Claus dolls which she sold locally at craft and art shows. She was featured a several occasions in the Indianapolis Star for her work.
This doll is named "Woodland Claus" and is Santa Claus represented as an Eskimo.
The doll is made from various types of cloth, fabrics and stuffing. It measures about 28" tall including the wooden walking stick and is secured to a round wooden base.
On one side Woodland Claus carries a canoe shaped bag made from tree bark and a walking stick with a cardinal on it. On the other side has wooden snowshoes and a woven basket sack full of twigs and Christmas presents.
This doll is marked as being number 25 of 250..
The base of the doll is signed and dated by Myra.
This item remained part of Myra's estate after her passing and is being sold on consignment by request of her family. This doll does lean to one side.
